Penistone visit

I had reason to go to Penistone recently, my first ever visit. As usual I took my camera and I have uploaded a few photos to flickr. You can click on the images below to see them in full resolution on flickr.

One of the interesting buildings in Penistone is the market barn.

Designed and built by a company called Carpenter Oak  of Totnes, Devon. This plaque is quite high up on the building near one of the entrances.

Nicholas Saunderson FRS was born nearby in Thurlstone in 1682

Walking along a path near the Penistone station I spotted this caterpillar inching across. I don’t remember seeing one of these before. It just shows what a difference it can make going a few miles out of my “normal” area. It is the caterpillar from a Pale Tussock moth.
