At 1pm today (Sat 4 Jan 2025) I joined the Denso Marston Nature Reserve<\/a> warden for a walk around the reserve during which he told us about the various alternative names of birds we might see on the reserve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blackcap, Hedge Accentor etc.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Apparently Blackcap is an old name for Bullfinch, amongst others so I can say we saw a Blackcap on the reserve today. We also saw several Dunnocks AKA Hedge Sparrow, Hedge Accentor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I know some of the photos are not sharp but that doesn’t surprise me considering how grey and cold the day was. The camera attempts to make a suitably bright photo so in some of them it looks like a nice<\/em> day.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
