On Friday morning I took my camera and a Shipley Camera Club<\/a> shirt along to Northcliffe Park Woods<\/a> in Shipley. I gave Graham the shirt and then we went looking for Ring-necked Parakeets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ring-necked Parakeets<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In the past when I have noticed Ring-necked Parakeets they have been noisy and moved around in numbers. Today they were quiet and still. Spotting them against the green foliage was very, very, difficult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No photos, but we spent a while listening to Great Spotted Woodpeckers. I did think that a squirrel we could see was getting the woodpeckers worried but we didn’t spot one. Squirrels will eat eggs and fledglings if they come across them so I assumed the adults were trying to entice the Squirrel away from a nest.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

If you are using a phone the caption can take up most of the space of the thumbnail so you might find it easier to turn your phone to landscape to open the gallery. I am hoping to change that for the site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
