The two reason together made it seem a sensible thing to do. There is a BBC 1 program that may still be available to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/programmes\/b08lpldw\" target=\"_blank\">watch<\/a>\u00a0if you are quick.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"PM7_7354\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pmarfell\/33694884250\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/4\/3946\/33694884250_60cc16c54d_z.jpg\" alt=\"PM7_7354\" width=\"640\" height=\"408\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Just in front of the Castle are the Castle Mall shops and this is the roof in the Castle Mall Gardens.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"PM7_7357\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pmarfell\/33922338342\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/3\/2871\/33922338342_9bb5139b31_z.jpg\" alt=\"PM7_7357\" width=\"640\" height=\"440\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I forgive them for not doing it in this photo because it was late on a cold December afternoon but I am sure the door is usually a little wider open and the light on the pavement inviting people in off Elm Hill into <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bearshops.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Bear Shop<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"PM7_7357detail\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pmarfell\/33963304901\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/3\/2856\/33963304901_4fac560650_z.jpg\" alt=\"PM7_7357detail\" width=\"640\" height=\"374\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This detail of the window shows some of the choice.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"PM7_7359\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pmarfell\/34078891025\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/3\/2838\/34078891025_2a8d05d361_z.jpg\" alt=\"PM7_7359\" width=\"640\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Just round the corner from The Bear Shop is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.britonsarms.co.uk\" target=\"_blank\">Britons Arms<\/a> a coffee shop and restaurant that looks as though it could be a nice place for lunch or afternoon tea.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"PM7_7361\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pmarfell\/34078884045\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/4\/3928\/34078884045_5e62f0a0fd_z.jpg\" alt=\"PM7_7361\" width=\"640\" height=\"442\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And around the corner from Britons Arms is this view of Friars Quay looking towards The Mischief, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ribsofbeef.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Ribs of Beef<\/a> and Fye Bridge St.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"PM7_7366\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pmarfell\/33236967604\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/4\/3942\/33236967604_96458e930b_z.jpg\" alt=\"PM7_7366\" width=\"640\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is a view of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.standrewsnorwich.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">St Andrew&#8217;s Church<\/a> taken from the bottom of Prince&#8217;s St<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"PM7_7367\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pmarfell\/34078899815\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/3\/2815\/34078899815_0d56bd8f85_z.jpg\" alt=\"PM7_7367\" width=\"640\" height=\"428\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And just across from there are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehallsnorwich.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Halls<\/a>, Norwich. I&#8217;m sure most of these buildings look equally, if not more, inviting during proper daylight.<\/p>\n<h1>A trip to York<\/h1>\n<p>I have been to York quite a few times and many of them for Ingress and several of those trips were to meet up with others playing the game. In fact one of them was just after I had got to level 8, so that was back in early 2014 &#8211; 23 February to be exact. This latest trip in December 2016 was a solo trip and I only have a couple of photos to show for it. As I expected I was followed by, and followed, the Enlightened. They like to tidy up as quickly as possible.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"PM7_7454\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pmarfell\/34052028446\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/3\/2946\/34052028446_b74200a14c_z.jpg\" alt=\"PM7_7454\" width=\"452\" height=\"640\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I could have done with a bit more practice with this shot. It would also have been better if I had a tripod and didn&#8217;t feel conspicuous taking photos in the street. This is outside what was BHS on Coney St. next to the Yorkshire Bank. I have a couple of ideas where I want to take photos similar to this one but I don&#8217;t like photographing people \ud83d\ude41<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"PM7_7466\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pmarfell\/33707987800\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/3\/2900\/33707987800_dd4cf44a3e_z.jpg\" alt=\"PM7_7466\" width=\"468\" height=\"640\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This photo is the clock on St Martin le Grand parish church on Coney St, York. The figure on the top is known as &#8220;Little Admiral&#8221; taking a sighting on the sun with his sextant. He survived the fire after the bombing in 1942. The gilded head of Father Time on the side is a replacement for the one that got damaged.
