These are from the stretch from Moorside down towards Birks Wood and Gill Beck. I had a decent walk over Baildon Moor between the first and last but those photos have been shown in other posts. Or look through the history for Kingfisher, Moorhen nest etc.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Oak Galls\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pmarfell\/35555389656\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/5\/4264\/35555389656_0d29d42aca_z.jpg\" alt=\"Oak Galls\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>These &#8220;apples&#8221;, or &#8220;Galls&#8221;, on the Oak tree will contain the eggs and larvae of a Gall Wasp. The eggs and larvae release chemicals that cause the Oak to grow around them. Amazing stuff.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"2 Willow Warbler parents\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pmarfell\/35207469330\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/5\/4214\/35207469330_91623195d0_z.jpg\" alt=\"2 Willow Warbler parents\" width=\"640\" height=\"432\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There were plenty of Willow Warblers around both adult and juvenile. Here&#8217;s two adults with food. Perhaps they are trying to decide if I am something to be wary of. Should they approach their young when I might be watching.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Swallow in Flight\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pmarfell\/35555390466\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/5\/4264\/35555390466_a3505abbfe_z.jpg\" alt=\"Swallow in Flight\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is one of my better attempts at getting a Swallow in flight. These birds are quite a bit smaller than the Swifts I was trying to photograph the day before, they dart about a bit more too.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Willow Warbler with food\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pmarfell\/35425908252\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/5\/4266\/35425908252_df75f60e7d_z.jpg\" alt=\"Willow Warbler with food\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s another Willow Warbler, there were quite a few of them around.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Male Chaffinch with food\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pmarfell\/34785267743\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/5\/4235\/34785267743_f845b5f6d9_z.jpg\" alt=\"Male Chaffinch with food\" width=\"640\" height=\"428\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A little further down this male Chaffinch was waiting to go into the Hawthorn and feed its young.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Swallow waiting to be fed\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pmarfell\/35207477410\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/5\/4216\/35207477410_23b4b7142c_z.jpg\" alt=\"Swallow waiting to be fed\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This rather smart looking Swallow was seen perching on the wires on my way back after walking over the Moors a bit, five hours later than the photo of the Chaffinch.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Chiffchaff\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pmarfell\/34752989424\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/5\/4280\/34752989424_de259d1ac1_z.jpg\" alt=\"Chiffchaff\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And this one is a Chiffchaff. A little plainer than the Willow Warbler and with less of a line over its eye. And I know it is a Chiffchaff because I could see its beak and chest moving in time with the chiff chaff I could hear.\u00a0<script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>These are now the last of the photos from that weekend.
