At least this time I got sight of a Common Dipper, one flew past me within just a few feet; far too quick for a photo.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Ringlet\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pmarfell\/35773631042\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4290\/35773631042_b5967fe9c4_c.jpg\" alt=\"Ringlet\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There were plenty of butterflies around, lots of Ringlet, but this one doesn&#8217;t have any spots\/rings?? A 150-500mm zoom lens is not the kit to use when photographing butterfly or flowers but I think they have come out reasonably well.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Self Heal\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pmarfell\/35773615412\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4303\/35773615412_a363448f36_c.jpg\" alt=\"Self Heal\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s quite a lot of colour out at the moment. Large patches of purple, white and yellow. This one is Self Heal<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Betony\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pmarfell\/35134720323\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4301\/35134720323_a8d71de27d_c.jpg\" alt=\"Betony\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>and this Betony.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Goldfinch, Thistles\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pmarfell\/35773612352\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4327\/35773612352_2a9cc700a9_c.jpg\" alt=\"Goldfinch, Thistles\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Up at the top of these Thistles is a Goldfinch. I think it has a little while to wait before it can start eating the seeds. When they open I expect there to be flocks of Goldfinch on them. At the moment the Goldfinch can be seen and heard doing their undulating flight between the tops of trees.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Wren\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pmarfell\/35944034085\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4299\/35944034085_0d2f3fbdf0_c.jpg\" alt=\"Wren\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Down on the beck it looked as though at least two parent Wrens were very busy feeding young. They were flying off into the field by the beck and then coming back to feed their young that were hidden in the grass overhanging the beck.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Ghyl Beck\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pmarfell\/35944033195\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4320\/35944033195_9595bb36f0_c.jpg\" alt=\"Ghyl Beck\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It was while I was watching the Wrens that the Dipper flew past me. It went up stream. This shot shows as far as I could see from where I was &#8211; no Dipper. I&#8217;ll be back.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Golden-bloomed Grey Longhorn\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pmarfell\/35902967586\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4320\/35902967586_38e60fcf30_c.jpg\" alt=\"Golden-bloomed Grey Longhorn\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>When I got back to the path I spotted this\u00a0Golden-bloomed Grey Longhorn beetle.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Teasel\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pmarfell\/35773602722\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4300\/35773602722_6ab514c102_c.jpg\" alt=\"Teasel\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This Teasel still has a stripe of purple around it.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Moorhen chick\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pmarfell\/35902952986\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4312\/35902952986_e7d3e03e8d_c.jpg\" alt=\"Moorhen chick\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Down by the dam a couple of Moorhen chicks were rummaging around in the grass.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Thistle\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pmarfell\/35902949396\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4303\/35902949396_cb2f71729a_c.jpg\" alt=\"Thistle\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I think I might find myself down here again for these too. When these open up I hope to see lots of Goldfinch.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Greater Spotted Woodpecker\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pmarfell\/35902942156\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4305\/35902942156_2643ed21a7_c.jpg\" alt=\"Greater Spotted Woodpecker\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I heard the loud noise of a woodpecker call and saw one fly to a tree.
