Crow v Heron"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I guess we have all seen larger birds being mobbed by groups of smaller ones. I have seen blackbirds mobbing Magpies and Crows, Crows and Curlew mobbing Red Kite. I assumed this was to protect their nest or young from predation. So what was this Crow doing?<\/p>\n<p>No big deal with the first shot. A Grey Heron and a Crow in a field. How nice! How much bigger is the Heron? The Crow started to get a bit closer to the Heron, but stayed behind it. Having seen the speed of a Heron when it is catching fish I would have thought twice about pulling the tail feathers of one of them.
