Today, Sunday 12 Feb, I went to Bingley for the game of Ingress. I am not sure what people thought of me wondering around with my binoculars and camera but the difficult part was playing Ingress on my phone with my left hand while keeping my camera and lens from banging against my leg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While walking along the river I did hear a Kingfisher but didn’t see it. In Myrtle Park I saw a noisy flock of Starlings but they were way up in the trees. Towards the end of my Bingley visit, heading back to the start, I spotted some birds on the grass at the junction of Myrtle Place and Main Street. Surprise, surprise, right next to the main road through Bingley were Redwings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I headed home through Eldwick and when I got to Bingley Road\/Glen Road found out that my normal way to Baildon was closed due to the major gas works going on. It is hardly a diversion but I had to go via Glen Road and Lucy Hall Drive. At Bracken Hall Countryside Centre I decided to stop off and have a quick look for anything interesting. I called in at the Centre and saw the recent (?) new entrance that had been built. In the grounds there I spotted a few birds, Nuthatch, Robin, Dunnock, Chaffinch and Kestrel in the distance but the Chaffinch was the only one I got a photo of. After leaving there I spotted a Buzzard above The Old Glen House so I pulled in to their car park and watched it for a while as it drifted into the distance, too far away to get a photo of it. What I did spot in the other direction though was a Vee formation of birds. The first thought was Geese heading for home but after looking at the photo it appears that they are Gulls of some kind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
