A lot of people at work have seen me with my camera and some think I might be able to pass some of my knowledge on to them. As a result I have been asked to go out at lunch-time with others from work with the intention of helping them get the hang of their cameras.<\/p>\n

Today was one of those days. Michael and Dan had brought their cameras in so at lunch-time we headed off to the weir.<\/p>\n

Michael wanted to try a low shutter speed and had bought a neutral density filter to reduce the amount of light going into the camera.<\/p>\n

I tried a few shots of the weir, both with normal exposure as decided by the camera and then with the combination pushed to give me a slower shutter speed.<\/p>\n

Michael and Dan both have the same camera, a Nikon. Mine is Canon. These cameras have a button somewhere to change all the settings. The problem is knowing which one it is. You then have to know what effect the different settings will have on the photo you take given the lighting conditions. It takes a lot of practice and familiarisation.<\/p>\n

And of course I couldn’t go without getting some wild life shots. This is a Dunnock (with a very short tail) that was on the edge of the river below us.<\/p>\n

And all the time we were being watched by the wolf on the wall.<\/p>\n
