On the way back from Wetherby we decided we needed a cup of tea so called into Harewood house, it is quite an expensive way to by a cup of tea and a coffee (we also had a bagel and a chicken wrap) but we also had a wander round.<\/p>\n<p>The flamingoes looked a very fluorescent pink and look very strange with their thin legs and upside-down beaks. But look at those eyes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pmarfell\/8647109821\/lightbox\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Flamingo by Paul Marfell, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8534\/8647109821_5e17b97439_z.jpg\" width=\"427\" height=\"640\" alt=\"Flamingo\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Herons I have seen in the wild are soon flying away, often before you have seen them, but this one actually came towards us.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pmarfell\/8648205616\/lightbox\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Heron by Paul Marfell, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8524\/8648205616_2007e934f2_z.jpg\" width=\"427\" height=\"640\" alt=\"Heron\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This rather chunky, Kingfisher like thing is a Kookaburra.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pmarfell\/8648201616\/lightbox\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Kookaburra by Paul Marfell, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8115\/8648201616_ae78fdfb75_z.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" alt=\"Kookaburra\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>However the main stars of our visit were the Redkites flying around the grounds.
