Silk Button Spangle Galls on an Oak leaf at BRGP

Doughnut shaped Oak Galls under an Oak leaf that are created by the leaf’s reaction to the egg of the cynipd wasp Neuroterus numismalis. There are also a few Common Spangle Galls from the Neuroterus quercusbaccarum wasp.
