My ramblings, my photos, photography, image editing, etc.

Afternoon of 16/05/25 at DMNR

I have now caught up with the photos from my little trips out. These are from yesterday afternoon at Denso Marston Nature Reserve.

As usual you can tap/touch/click on an image, not its caption, to see it in better quality in the gallery. And if you like what you see please click on one or more of the Share buttons at the bottom.

Friday at DMNR

These are all in the order in which they were taken. The header image of the Grey Heron was taken just before the last photo of the Dog Rose. It shows nice clear water. The river is very low but looking very clean. Though the water is clean the rubbish is still there – see the first photo below of the Grey Heron next to a great big gas canister and the shopping trolley

A few days of warm weather has brought lots of Damselflies out. Large Red Damselflies, Azure Damselflies mating and ovipositing, and male and female Banded Demoiselle.

The wings of the Peacock and Orange Tip butterflies are starting to look a bit ragged. A butterfly’s wings are formed while it is a pupa and it does not have the ability to regrow/repair them.

The Dog Rose towards the end of the reserve is flowering.

If you are using a phone the caption can take up most of the space of the thumbnail so you might find it easier to turn your phone to landscape to open the gallery. I am hoping to change that for the site.

You can also leave comments or subscribe to the site – leave your email address and you will get notified when I publish something new.

The images are published under the Creative Commons, BY-NC-SA license. Feel free to share them, edit them, but please keep my name in the credits. And if I have got the ID of anything wrong please let me know, I don’t consider myself an expert but I have write something. It is often a best guess and it would take up too much room to say It could be this, or it could be… or perhaps.
