Great Spotted Visitor
We had this male Great Spotted Woodpecker visitor in our Cherry Tree on 18 January 2018. I often hear them, we have some large trees around, but it is great to see them in the garden. The red patch on the back of its head identifies it as adult male. A female has the red…

Baildon Planning Application Map
TL;DR I have resurrected and tweaked the Baildon planning application map at:- baildon.org.uk/maps/planning The Long Version I developed an interest in using computers many years ago (mid to late 1970s) when I started writing programs to make my work as a Production Engineer easier. Kingfishers at Adel Dam Nature Reserve
I paid my first visit to Adel Dam Nature Reserve yesterday afternoon. It was quite a grey day but the sightings of the Kingfishers were good. I will be calling again. From the first hide you could see Nuthatch, Blue Tits, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Coal Tits, Great Tit and a young Grey Heron strutting along…

Buzzard
I went for a walk along the river Aire today with the intention of getting a photo of a Kingfisher. I did see one fly along the river but it didn’t co-operate and perch near me. I took a few photos of butterflies and Goosander and I will probably be posting something about them later…
