Last Sunday (7 April) I took Erica for a nice long driving lesson. On the way back from Wetherby we decided we needed a cup of tea so called into Harewood house, it is quite an expensive way to by a cup of tea and a coffee (we also had a bagel and a chicken wrap) but we also had a wander round.
The flamingoes looked a very fluorescent pink and look very strange with their thin legs and upside-down beaks. But look at those eyes.
The Herons I have seen in the wild are soon flying away, often before you have seen them, but this one actually came towards us.
This rather chunky, Kingfisher like thing is a Kookaburra.
However the main stars of our visit were the Redkites flying around the grounds. Some of these will be the ones I have seen over Baildon Moor.
