On Sunday, when the sun was at its highest I decided to go up on to Baildon Moor carrying two cameras and a pair of binoculars. Fortunately I also carried a water bottle that I had half filled with ice before topping up with water.

As expected there were a lot of things flying around. The little things are too quick to identify but some of the larger ones I could. Small Skipper, Small Copper, Small Heath, Gatekeeper. I also spotted some Peacock butterflies. The birds were the stars of the walk though. Male and Female Stonechat and what I reckon is a Common Whitethroat – it’s a little brown job anyway.
