My ramblings, my photos, photography, image editing, etc.

5 Aug along Leeds Liverpool Canal, Dockfield Rd

On 5th August, after spending some time in Shipley Underground Market sorting out some of the photos for Shipley Camera Club photo exhibition I took my camera along the Leeds Liverpool Canal towpath next to Dockfield Road.

I guess the stars of the walk along the towpath were the Swan family. I met a fellow photographer there who had come prepared. They had Swan pellets to feed them. Apparently the cygnets will be ringed soon and sport rings similar to their parent.

Walking down towards Metalbox I was pleased to see quite a few Cinnabar Moth caterpillar. So far this year I had seen very few in the areas where in previous years I had seen lots. I spent an arm aching time holding my camera up trying to get flying Dragonflies in the viewfinder and eventually managed to get an acceptable photo of one.

I also took a few general view photos. Network Rail message for engineers – Everyone home safe every day. They give the location of the gate in several ways including What3Words. For years the Chris Wright yard used to be empty. Cygnet Way used to be the site of Packaged Air Conditioning Equipment (PACE).
