A Couple of Local Ingress Trips

This is the first of two postings this weekend. These photos are from an Ingress trip to Leeds. I was a little surprised at the number of unique captures I got in the game with this recent walk along part of the Leeds Liverpool Canal at Leeds. I have been around these parts a couple of times but obviously not on this particular route.

Footbridge over River Aire

Having a curve in the bridge makes it a little more interesting.

And I suppose the support needs to support for the bridge needs to curve away so that the stresses are along the material.

The sky was surprisingly blue with white clouds as afternoon was getting on.

Leeds Liverpool Canal Office Lock

I wonder why the lock here should be called Office Lock? Perhaps the office for the canal was nearby. I will try to find out. And the yellow marker is for Cycle Route 66. Several of these are portals in the game. 1 is at Esholt on the canal another near the Ibis Hotel in Shipley on the canal.

Back in the days when signs were made out of cast iron you wouldn’t have the flexibility of a a DTP package to get just the size of type face you want. This sign is on the bridge of Wharf Approach by the Office Lock
