I often see Crows, Pigeons and Gulls on top of lamp posts as I walk to work but the other day I saw a Rook on top of one of the tall lamp posts with a whole end slice from a loaf of bread. I didn’t hang around to swap lenses because it was snowing at the time so this one is taken at 55mm and is cropped. They must be strong flyers to drag that up there.
Today, Saturday, between coffees, I went and stood in the garden with my camera. I was hoping to get some shots of Bramblings, Blackcaps or Bullfinches but they are a lot more wary than these Siskins.
Even though there was snow on the ground and the birds were scared away by snow falling off the conservatory roof it still seems to be Springtime. This is a cute Long-tailed Tit with its beak full of feathers for a nest.
