Today was a walk from Bracken Hall Countryside Centre to Bingley North Bog along the canal and river, and then back by a different route along river and canal.
The header image is the prow of on of the rowing boats being used on the river at Bradford Amateur Rowing Club.

I had been keeping my fingers crossed for a sight of a Kingfisher and when we walked past the rowing club someone mentioned to me that two Kingfisher were this side of the viaduct at Dowley Gap. I didn’t see any, nor did I spot any Little Grebe that I had seen there recently.
But in the area between the locks and the footbridge I did get a good sight of one and I think the photo of it is not too bad.
Further along the canal were Swans and Canada Geese. And just to see if I could get both chimney and plane in the frame I took a photo of a Jet2 plane and the top of the chimney on Britannia Wharf.
A Bingley North Bog were the obligatory Canada Gees but after watching for a few minutes a Little Grebe showed itself. A Grey Heron also flew in.
A little further on, closer to the path up to Five Rise Locks we could see five female and one male Pheasant.
On the way back, and I use that term loosely, we joined the river at Millgate and soon after that I spotted a Grey Heron across the other side of the river. I think it was considering the place for nesting.
The way back seemed a lot longer than the way out. The rain didn’t help.
Unfortunately I didn’t start the Tracks app. on my phone so I have nothing to display on the map. Other people on the walk recorded their steps and distance but as far as I know no GPX or KML files were created.
