A bit of sunshine prompted me to go down to Denso Marston Nature Reserve again. It was quite pleasant in the Sun but a couple of times I found myself in the shade quietly watching for Goldcrest (no photos) with a very cold breeze blowing through me.

There were a few little carpets of Crocus but I was a little surprised to see a Bumble Bee having a root around inside one of them.
I was lucky to spot the Wren below one of the trees, wings and tail spread warming itself up in the sun (or is it exposing its feathers to the sun to encourage little creepy crawlies to leave it?)
The Mallard on the pond looked as though they were paired for the Spring and a Moorhen pair were definitely feeling Spring like. I never knew they were so acrobatic when mating. The female almost tucks her head under herself, between her legs, while the male falls off, head first. They did have another go near where I half expect them to build a nest (dogs on leads please if they must be in the reserve) and it was not quite as acrobatic, I think some of the reeds prevented the female tipping up quite as much.
The Little Grebe was showing itself a little more than usual. It kept diving, not to hide itself, but to catch fish.
