These are a few photos from a walk up part of Gill Beck, around part of Tong Park Dam and back again.
Though I say below that I didn’t see much along Gill Beck there was one thing that it was great not to see – not long ago the volunteers of Aire Rivers Trust cleared rubbish from and around Gill Beck. The polystyrene, tyres, plastic, cans, drums, take away food containers etc had been cleared. Unfortunately it looks as though the rubbish itself is still on site.

Tong Park Dam
I didn’t notice anything along Gill Beck other than singing Wrens, Robins and Blue Tits until I got close to Tong Park Dam. I then paid a bit more attention to what I thought were flies on the path. They moved out of the way as my feet approached, as expected, until one collection of them, that I thought were on a small pile of something dead and/or unpleasant, just spread out with not one heading for the sky. So I looked a bit closer, they were tiny frogs. There were hundreds of them, and looking around a bit more I saw that hundreds of the had been squashed on the path. I then started being a bit more careful as to where I put my feet.
On the Dam itself were a Swan family, four youngsters, with parents yellow Y261 and yellow 0Y98.

On the other side of the fence, towards Broadacre Way a foal was still feeding from its mum.
A small flock of House Martins kept coming and flying over the water and every so often one would dip down to the water surface. I couldn’t see if it was catching a fly or if it was getting a drink.
If you are using a phone the caption can take up most of the space of the thumbnail so you might find it easier to turn your phone to landscape to open the gallery. I am hoping to change that for the site.

It is often a best guess and it would take up too much room to say It could be this, or it could be… or perhaps.
