5 May 2026 on Baildon Moor

These are a few photos from a visit to Baildon Moor early in May 2026. The header image is the only one I edited into a shape that better suits a header, it is a view of the wind farm and shows one of them facing in the opposite direction to all the others.

As usual you can tap/touch/click on an image to see it in better quality in the carousel gallery with an i for more information. And if you like what you see please click on one or more of the Share buttons at the bottom.

Birds

One of the things I enjoy on Baildon Moor this time of the year is the drumming Snipe and I am quite pleased with this photo of one of them. At Rodley Nature Reserve and to some extent High Royds pond I have had decent views of Snipe wading but hearing them drumming as they fly around and dive is quite special.

The others are Oystercatcher in flight, singing Wren, female Stonechat, male Stonechat, Whitethroat, and Willow Warbler

Wings

Orange-tip, and Red Admiral butterflies.

Please click on the images to take you to better quality images in the carousel gallery where the i will let you see the title, and caption, and some photography info.

It is often a best guess and it would take up too much room to say It could be this, or it could be… or perhaps.
